The role of Technology in my Profession and Life :)

Technology is part of my life since I was a kid. I remember that when I was younger I really liked to play videogames in my computer. Then, when I was growing, I spended a lot of time on Messenger or reading fanfics on internet. Those were nice times… jajajaja

But now, technology has evolved a lot and there are so many more tools and programmes than 10 years ago. In this times, it’s hard to be out of the use of technology because, in my case, it’s my most important way to communicate.

I have lost a lot of cellphones, but the last time I did it was horrible! People use them to create WhatsApp groups where they coordinate EVERYTHING, the hour, the place, the date of works. I use my phone to read my emails. To study my scores… I didn’t have it just for a few days and I felt very disconnected and it was a professional problem.

Of course there are limits. In fact, I notice sometimes (a lot of times jajaja) that I’m spending too many hours on my social networks, just watching nothing and I feel very guilty about that, but now I’m changing it.

At present, I feel like I use the technologies more responsibly, at first, because I have no much time the waste it jajaja and because, now I use them for useful reasons related with my profession. For example:

I’m learnig german in an application called Duolingo. This is a really good tool to learn languages in a funny way.

I use my computer to create visual material for my concerts. I create PowerPoint presentations, where I write the translations of the musical pieces I sing. Also I put images or painting related with the music. This way I make that the audience feel closer to the music.

Besides that, as you know, I’m working in this FRACTAL duo project, and I have created the logo and dossier on internet pages to design. The same way I write almost every document on Word. It makes the work more accessible and able to quick changes. Also, there are a lot of programmes wich are made to write scores in a digital way. This is a really useful tool when you compose your own music or you want to make some musical arrangement.

By last, social networks can be a really good tool to share what we do with a lot of people. We can share photos, music videos, information about concerts, even, as internet makes the world connected, we can have information about conservatories, courses, festivals abroad where we could like to go.
